Speaker: Dr. Jonathan D. Bray, Ph.D., P.E., NAE
Faculty Chair in Earthquake Engineering Excellence, University of California Berkeley
Professor Bray is internationally recognized for his expertise in geotechnical and earthquake engineering, with a focus on seismic performance of earth structures, liquefaction, seismic site response, and earthquake fault rupture propagation. Professor Bray's research has been instrumental in advancing the understanding of soil behavior during seismic events. His extensive studies on liquefaction phenomena have provided valuable insights into its susceptibility and consequences, shaping guidelines and models that inform engineering practices and policies for earthquake resilience.
Professor Bray has worked on seismic slope stability over 35 years and will discuss key concepts and recently developed simplified methods.
