This roundtable will explore the critical role of embodied carbon in shaping the future of sustainable design and construction. Panelists from academia, construction, and design will discuss strategies for quantifying and managing embodied carbon through Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), and emerging carbon management tools. The conversation will highlight evolving guidelines, industry standards, and legislative initiatives driving change, as well as practical resources available to practitioners. The session will also address how engineering and design firms can incorporate sustainability into their operations and culture, helping to advance climate-responsive practices across the built environment.
