This 2.5-day, Instructor-led Training (ILT) is highly interactive and builds upon participants' prior knowledge of bridge and/or tunnel inspection. This course covers the entire breadth of knowledge necessary to manage or execute a successful tunnel inspection. During the course, the instructor will lead participants through a series of case studies giving them an opportunity to practice and apply their knowledge in real-life tunnel inspection situations. The capstone case study comprises of a tunnel inspection exercise that takes place at the end of the course.
Pre-requisite requirement: All participants must have successfully completed the following prerequisite requirements prior to taking this course: FHWA-NHI-130110 Tunnel Safety Inspection AND FHWA-NHI-130124 Tunnel Safety Inspection Refresher Web-based Training. The course completion certificates must be emailed to bsces@engineers.org by Friday, March 6, 2026.
